Our Funding Model

Our funding model is community-powered. 10% of every Heavy Chef member fee is donated to the Foundation, funding entrepreneur research and development on the ground. Global partners match that commitment with their own.

Our work

  • Research

We run South Africa’s largest ongoing study of entrepreneur development — tracking 10,000+ entrepreneurs since 2019 to understand what truly drives growth.

  • Design

We design programmes for Heavy Chef, communities and public and private organisations — grounded in data, informed by fieldwork and built for measurable impact.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation

We measure what matters - tracking behaviour change, engagement and growth to ensure real impact for Heavy Chef and our partners.

  • Publishing

We turn insights into influence - publishing reports, books and documentaries that illuminate entrepreneur life through stats and stories.

How we collaborate

If you serve entrepreneurs and want to build stronger communities through research, programmes and measurable impact — we would love to work together.
