In July's tech-focused event, Heavy Chef has invited two of SA's smartest app technicians to unpack the do's and don'ts of app building. The Heavy Chef stage will feature Jacques Jordaan is the Co-Founder of Specno, SA's most impressive app agency at the moment. Mawethu Soga is the wizard behind Fixxr, the technology for booking your car service. This event is for any entrepreneurs or leaders who are considering their own app project - or businesses that have built an app and want to scale it.

Speakers:
Jacques Jordaan, the Co-founder and COO of Specno, embarked on his entrepreneurial journey alongside his business partner, Daniel Novitzkas, during their time studying Information Technology at the University of Stellenbosch. Since the establishment of Specno in 2018, their goal has been to assist innovative entrepreneurs in building top-notch, technology-driven businesses. Jacques has acquired a profound technical understanding of software product development over the years and has utilized this expertise to help numerous entrepreneurs, funded startups, and large enterprises validate, design, and construct intelligent digital solutions for both the African and global markets. Furthermore, Jacques is also the technical Co-founder of Wardworx, a digital platform developed in collaboration with Dr. Peta-Anne Browne, aimed at streamlining and digitizing the doctor-patient management process. In recognition of his contributions to Specno and his efforts in assisting African entrepreneurs in developing tech products, Jacques was honored as one of the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 members in 2023.
Mawethu Soga is the Head of Growth and Commercialisation at Fixxr, where he is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. He also plays a crucial role in raising funds, managing investors, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Prior to his current position, Mawethu served as a Senior Solution Subject Matter Expert at Standard Bank, where he was instrumental in developing and launching a highly successful bulk payment product, contributing to a substantial increase in payment volumes and B2B acquisitions. In addition, Mawethu has a background in managing a portfolio of funds for black-owned small businesses, providing them with funding and market access. With his skills and expertise, Mawethu is leading Fixxr in building strong relationships, driving positive change, and achieving enhanced profitability through cohesive business approaches.
