I'm still based in Khayelitsha, and if you were to ask, who Sizwe is, Sizwe is a young, energetic and motivated entrepreneur who is very passionate about solving problems using business models and techniques.

I went to UCT through the Raymond Ackerman Academy. I did the business course, and from there onwards, I never turned back. I realised that I love business and I love the fact that I can take whatever ideas that I have and turn them into a reality that the community can value and that can be seen as useful.

What is nice about RAA is that it teaches you about self-development. Because as a business owner, as an entrepreneur, self-development and self-motivation is key. You might know how to do accounting, you might know how to do marketing and all of these things, but if you are not self-driven - that's something that wakes you up to work on your dream.

Exposing myself to different types of accelerator programs, as well as incubation programs, was mainly to learn more businesses. The business sector is an ever-evolving industry so you have to keep up with what's currently trending.

Scaling starts from inside and out. You don't scale your resources if you haven't prepared or included platforms internally for scale. One of the things that have been mentioned to me is an example of how you scale a business from in-house. They made an example of a snowball that starts up from the top of the hill, rolling down and growing as it picks up momentum. And as it picks up momentum, it keeps growing, it picks up more snow, the weight becomes more. This is an example of a business that's moving, that's growing - that's growing revenue, growing resources, starting to open different branches around the country.

When you're in business, as you grow, it's not going to get easier. It's going to get more complex and that's why it's an ongoing learning process. It's a journey. You never get to a stop and say, "Well, I'm done now. I don't learn anymore". Even your top businessmen, who've been in business for 30 years, they've encountered new problems that they didn't know or they didn't experience. That's why it's an ever-going learning journey.

Our visions are aligned so whatever we do, we know that we are going on the same route, no one's going to diverge into something else. That's what really makes our partnership successful - how we work, in terms of technicalities at the bottom, that can change. But the vision remains the same and we share the same vision.

I think that mentorship is very crucial, but young entrepreneurs might not see it as something that's crucial because it's not a tangible value, it's not tangible money that you see in the account. However, over time it transects into money that you see in your account because you see the growth in your business.

The training is hosted by a partnership between a company called Edge Growth, which is an investment VC company, and it's through the FNB program. It's an FNB business program sponsored by My FNB and it basically gives CEOs a different perspective around how to grow their businesses to the next level. 

We want to be a national company, where we service other provinces as well as other cities around South Africa. The whole goal, really, for Iyeza is, how do we increase access to care for people, regardless of who you are, where you live, your economic standards, whether you are rich or poor.
